Building truck equipment since 1960, we have experience producing a full line of snowplows, combination dump bodies, conventional dump bodies, material spreaders, de-icing material application equipment, as well as our industry disrupting Tow Plow. Viking-Cives is also a leading distributor of various hydraulic systems, dump bodies, and an assortment of related truck equipment. We represent many of the leading truck equipment manufacturers throughout North America and have the knowledge and experience to install even the most complicated snow and ice truck equipment packages. In Canada, our products are built and installed through our main plant in Mount Forest, Ontario, and through our factory stores in Calgary and Edmonton. In this role, the successful person will assemble snow & ice removal products, mechanical equipment, and more for standard and customized heavy commercial trucks.

What We Are Looking for:

Skills/Qualifications:
Basic Mechanical Understanding, Forklift/Overhead Crane knowledge, Welding/drilling experience preferred, Detail oriented with good organizational skills, mathematically inclined, lift upwards of 50lbs. Class 5 Drivers License.

Education/Experience:
•High School Diploma or equivalent. 1-2 years’ experience preferred, but willing to train the right candidate.
•Mechanical Assembly: 1 year (Preferred)

What You'll Do As A Mechanical Assembler

Job Duties: (Personal tools required)
•Assemble quality products while focusing on given standards.
•Work on mechanical systems which include hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical components.
•Handle heavy materials manually and with overhead cranes in a safe and efficient manner.
•Maintain traceable requirements by completing required documentation.
•Read and interpret drawings and routings as it relates to the product being manufactured, and raw materials used to construct the product.
•Use measuring tools such as tape measure, framing square, straight edge, calipers, laser level, shop measuring & cutting equipment to cut stock tubing, angle iron, channel iron, flat bar, etc.
•Maintain daily cleanliness of work area
•Adhere to all safety practices and report any unsafe conditions, broken or malfunctioning equipment.
•Ensure that established quality standards are adhered to
•Willing to work overtime when required
